Caribbean Cruises

Dozens of islands, warm water all year and a route for every kind of traveler

No region gives cruisers more choice than the Caribbean. Short distances between islands mean more port days and fewer sea days, ships sail here twelve months a year, and you can board from Texas, Florida, Louisiana or Puerto Rico. The real decision is which part of the Caribbean suits you — and that's where we help.

Why cruise to Caribbean?

  • Pick your style of island

Western routes lean toward reefs, jungle and Mayan ruins. Eastern routes are about beaches and shopping. Southern routes reach quieter islands such as Barbados, St. Lucia and the ABCs.

  • Some of the best reefs in the hemisphere

Roatán, Belize and Cozumel sit along the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef — snorkel trips leave straight from the pier.

  • Every type of ship

Mega-ships with water slides, adults-only Virgin Voyages, and smaller premium ships all sail the Caribbean.

  • A beach day included

Most weeklong sailings add a stop at a cruise line's own island where the beach, food and loungers are set up for you.

  • Close to home

Driving distance to a port for millions of Americans, US dollars widely accepted, and English spoken almost everywhere.

Questions about Caribbean cruises

Is it risky to cruise during hurricane season?

The season runs June through November and peaks from late August to mid-October. Ships track storms constantly and change ports when needed, so the main risk is a different itinerary rather than danger. Fares are often lowest then — just add travel insurance.

Which part of the Caribbean should I choose?

If you want reefs and history, go Western. For beaches and duty-free shopping, go Eastern. If you've cruised before and want somewhere less busy, look at Southern routes. Tell us what you enjoy and we'll narrow it down.

What ID do I need for a cruise from a US port?

For a round-trip sailing that starts and ends at the same US port, US citizens can generally travel with an original or certified birth certificate and a government-issued photo ID. A passport book is still the safer choice — without one, getting home from a foreign port after a missed ship or medical issue is much harder.
