Dry, sunny and breezy — the Caribbean's most dependable weather
Aruba lies just north of Venezuela, far south of the usual storm track, and gets very little rain. That makes it one of the safest Caribbean picks for late-summer and autumn cruises. Together with Curaçao and Bonaire — the ABC islands — it offers long white beaches, Dutch colonial towns and superb snorkeling.
Aruba averages relatively little rain and sits outside the main hurricane belt.
Eagle Beach is wide and uncrowded; Palm Beach has the cafés and water sports.
Jeep and UTV tours cross Arikok National Park to cave drawings and the Natural Pool.
Pastel buildings and a free streetcar in Oranjestad; Willemstad in Curaçao is a UNESCO site.
Boca Catalina and the Antilla shipwreck are favorite snorkel spots.

It's among the safest choices — hurricanes rarely reach this far south. That's why many late-summer Caribbean sailings feature the ABC islands.
Eagle Beach is about 10 minutes by taxi; Palm Beach about 20. Public buses also run from downtown Oranjestad.
For a round-trip sailing that starts and ends at the same US port, US citizens can generally travel with an original or certified birth certificate and a government-issued photo ID. A passport book is still the safer choice — without one, getting home from a foreign port after a missed ship or medical issue is much harder.
